Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of deaths by cancer in the United States, yet about a third of adults in this country do not receive up-to-date screening tests. In this country, regular screening begins at age 45 years old, but you can request for a colonoscopy if you believe that you are at a high risk of getting colorectal cancer even though you have not reached the age requirement.
